Ive been waiting for a good tactical sub simulation. Crash Dive is really good. No stability issues on my iPad. Gameplay is good. Graphics excellent. I wish for a 360 degree view of sub while underwater. To better visualize depth charges. Also, better damage reporting. But overall very good. Recommended.

Wow. Could be a great game if it worked.

Check your maps, lie in wait, fire your torpedoes, dive, run, use decoys, hope the escorts dont find you, when the coast is clear try to pick off another. Repeat. You will love this game If you like WWII era submarine warfare and tactics. Graphics are nice, gameplay mostly easy and straight forward, easy controls. The biggest drawback is that this is more game than simulator. It really leaves you wanting better SONAR modeling, weapons limitations and advancements, different boats, more advance AI and so on. But as a game based on submarines it is a great little time waster. I hope the authors continue to push it forward to more simulator like features

Have original iPad with 5.1 (unstable op);& iPhone 4 with 7 op. Keeps crashing on iPad, however, runs fine & stable on iPhone 4. Game looks impressive. Begin in Easy mode. Begins in summer 1942 in mid-Atlantic. Venture from Lorient to mid-Atlantic. Computer finds closest convoy & accesses convoy ship count. No escorts sighted in convoy - Attack. Swipe the screen for steering followed by tapping compass (located on bottom right to engage). Targets are computer controlled & so fire torpedoes. Usually 1 torp/ship. Designed to be arcade 1st & simulator 2nd. All the difficult aspects of steering, locating convoys, torpedoe/ship angles are computer controlled. Torpedoes always hit & detonate - no duds. Silent Hunter game for PC no longer runs on Windows 7 or 8. This is the next best thing. Given the limited resources on iPad/iPhone, this is the best U-boat game out there.

I have IOS 5.1.1 and app wont run a single mission. Tutorials wont run.

As a former submariner I think the strategy in this game is challenging and fun. Many different levels to chose from and a limitless supply of missions which are all configured differently in the War Patrol mode. Pass by a convoy if you want, or attack. Its your choice. Very well put together game that provides challenges at every turn.

Its an awesome game,but Id like to see options to be able to operate American, Japanese, or even British submarines.

This is a good wwii themed sub game. As others said, more game than simulation, but still good. If it had little more richness/nuance in play, Id bump fro. 4 to 5.

Its been years since I got hooked on Silent Service II. And there just havent been any good sub sims for Mac OS. Thats changed with Crash Dive. Awesome graphics, gripping hunts, and a good balance of simulation vs action. Worth every dollar.

I enjoy this game and have gotten my moneys worth - ie wasted lots of time. The biggest complaint I have is the enemy ships pass right through each other as if the other ships dont exist. A destroyer will go right through a transport chasing you down. If the ships behaved properly Id give 5 stars.

I have always loved submarines and have always wanted to play a game where I could captain one. Sadly me computer was to crapy to run silent hunter. When I saw this app I was so happy that I could finally be a sub captain. The gameplay is great and the only complaint I have is that there are no anti submarine planes. All in all, this is a great game!

Great game, pretty easy as well (although there is simulator mode). My one, minor complaint is that there is an exit button on the menu which irritates me slightly.

This is the first sub game Ive played that even compares to my old PC games....688 attack sub, and others. Just great, a FUN game. Ive played about a day now, and just bumped it to 5 stars....its NOT a strategy game, as another reviewer said, but a sweet, fun, tactical game...awesome. Also, I contacted app support on a Sunday, and they responded same day. Nicely done.

This game is great... Almost too great, as it is addicting. I only wish the developers would do some updates to add new things to game.

Great graphics and basic mechanics make this entertaining and fun to play. Hopefully, the developer is working to eliminate surface ships being able to go through (over) each other as if they are invisible. And not allow depth charges to drop directly under the merchant ships. This flaw limits the evasion tactics one would employ in a real situation.

First...the game simulation is fun an often times challenging. The latest update messed up the water graphics...they are shiny and cartoonish. Im sure its a bug and will be fixed...hopefully soon. The game itself gets a bit repetitive...same mission just different number of enemies. I would strongly suggest a career mode that tracks your stats and rewards you with promotion and rank or demotions for failed missions.
